The National B.L.A.C.K Cooperative

For Black Flourishing. . . For Black Freedom. . . For Humanity

At the National B.L.A.C.K. (Black Liberation Association for Change and Kinship) Cooperative,

we are young community organizers from around Connecticut working with local community organizations. Our cooperative is led by Black women and supported by Black men, non-Black people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, the special needs community,

and white allies.

Our Vision

Our Vision

For Black, Indigenous and People of Color to flourish with all liberties in life free from oppression in every aspect of life.

Our mission is to fight anti-blackness, systemic racism and social injustice through education, advocacy and community engagement  so that BIPOC cannot just merely survive but flourish.

“... I do not believe that the meaning of the Constitution was forever “fixed” at the Philadelphia Convention. Nor do I find the wisdom, foresight, and sense of justice exhibited by the Framers particularly profound. To the contrary, the government they devised was defective from the start, requiring several amendments, a civil war, and momentous social transformation to attain the system of constitutional government, and its respect for the individual freedoms and human rights, we hold as fundamental today. When contemporary Americans cite “The Constitution,” they invoke a concept that is vastly different from what the Framers barely began to construct two centuries ago.”

Thurgood Marshall, Former Supreme Court Justice, Bicentennial Speech

Three Pillars of Action
Upcoming Events

Three Pillars of Action

Listen. Understand. Implement.

In order to actualize our mission, we shall pursue these three pillars of action.

Listen:

  • Community Discussion

  • Civic Engagement

  • Collaborative Organizing

Understand:

  • Inform the community about resources available to them

  • Foster awareness about political, racial and social justice issues affecting the community

Implement:

  • Fight for resources for the community

  • Fight for racial and social justice

  • Foster leadership in the community

  • Find, fund and support political candidates that authentically speak to the needs of the community

  • Support and promote Black businesses and excellence, because joy is a form of resistance too.
